These images move beyond traditional portraiture. Instead, they focus on the interplay of chiaroscuro lighting and the human form to create something that feels more like classical sculpture than a digital capture.

The Model: A Living Sculpture

The model featured in this series brings a profound level of physical discipline and artistic intuition to the studio. Whether caught in a moment of dynamic motion with flowing fabric or held in a static, high-contrast pose, her ability to hold tension and grace allows for the capture of light in its most sculptural state.

The Architecture of the Body: Exploring how light breaks across muscle and bone to create complex, geometric patterns.

The Fluidity of Motion: Capturing the "decisive moment" where fabric and form merge into a single, ethereal shape.

About the Photographer

Roger is an Australian fine art photographer based in the Riverina district of Southern NSW, Australia, specialising in the sculptural interplay of light and shadow.

Moving away from narrative storytelling, Roger’s work is a study in geometry and the physics of light. Through a mastery of black-and-white chiaroscuro techniques, he treats the human form as a "Living Sculpture" attempting to transform the decisive moment into something that feels carved from stone.

His practice is defined by technical precision and a commitment to the tangible image. An award-winning artist with work exhibited in Sydney and collected internationally, Roger produces every piece to an uncompromising archival standard. For him, a photograph is only complete when it is realised on museum-grade cotton rag, preserving the deep, intentional shadows that define his signature style.
