Over the past few years, Blomst Bakes has grown from a small passion project into a bakery supported by so many amazing people in our community. Every custom cake, cookie order, and kind message has helped keep this dream alive.

Now I’m working toward the next step: opening a small bakery space.

I’m currently applying for a small business loan to build out a bakery kitchen so I can produce more desserts, take on larger orders, and hire help.

To make that possible, I’m launching a community crowdfunding campaign to raise $8,000 toward startup costs and loan approval.

This money will help cover things like:
• equipment
• permits and licensing
• buildout of the kitchen
• first months of operating costs

Blomst Bakes was established in 2022 and specializes in custom celebration cakes and high-quality pastries. Since opening, the business has grown steadily through private clientele and community support. Recently, I expanded my licensing to sell my desserts through local breweries, coffee shops, and gift shops, allowing my products to reach a wider audience while supporting other small businesses in the community.

My passion for baking began in my childhood kitchen, inspired by my great-grandmother’s rye bread and cinnamon rolls. That early love for the craft led me to pursue formal training at Cascade Culinary Institute in Bend, Oregon, where I graduated and was selected for an international internship in Denmark. This experience deepened my appreciation for quality ingredients, traditional techniques, and thoughtful pastry design.

After completing my education, my family relocated to the Portland area and eventually settled in Woodland, Washington, where Blomst Bakes is now based. Over the past few years, the business has become well known throughout the community for its celebration cakes and handcrafted desserts.

With growing demand from both wholesale partners and private clients, I am now ready to expand Blomst Bakes into a dedicated storefront. A brick-and-mortar bakery will allow me to increase production, serve walk-in customers, strengthen my wholesale relationships, and continue contributing to the local small business community.
