Easter Mountain

If there was a place so far above that you could nearly see your shadow, would you say goodbye to the sea and walk? If the top was lavender, but the sides were orange and red, and the shoulders spoke lies that felt like kisses on old bricks, would you allow yourself to stay and breathe? Would you shake your head? Would you put cold water to your face, or warm earth? As the car rattles, sans-muffler, up and down the famous hills, will you take a step along the enchanted way? What is anything against knowing great love? 

Easter Mountain is the second record, and first LP, from Bete Grise. The phrase, Easter Mountain, is a circumlocution, the barycenter of which is probably not that interesting. All the same, the 11 songs populating this work feel special. The writing feels closer to what I've been trying to write. The sounds are at once more cohesive than the EP and more explorative. The arrangements are more focused. There are a few guitar solos. It's everything a second record from an independent rock artist should be. 

What it is not is made yet. A downside of the whole starving artist thing is that it takes a bit of cash to make a record. The album will be made no matter what. I'm determined. The infernal contracts are all drawn up and awaiting bloody signature... but Bete Grise is what it is because our incredible community here on the Olympic Peninsula and elsewhere has supported us so well. So, we turn to you first. Save our souls!

Your gifts will be used to cover production fees (recording, mixing, compensating collaborators) and merchandise (Shirts, CDs, Vinyl, and Matchbooks). Any additional funds (pleeeeeeeeease) will be put towards promotional stuff like music videos and covering expenses like travel, so we could potentially come to your city. Wouldn't that be nice.
