FLUX Wallet

About six months ago, I set out to build my own wallet; something sleek, rugged, and unmistakably modern. The result is the FLUX Wallet, a compact carry system I’ve used every single day since. No more digging through drawers for a pen, tweezers or light; everything I need lives in one place. The reactions from friends and even total strangers have been nothing short of incredible.

Machined from aluminum and roughly the size and weight of a smartphone, it’s engineered to hold 15 true everyday‑carry essentials. Inside, you can stash 3 cards, a couple of bills (or a band‑aid), a light, USB flash drive, micro‑SD card with adapter, pen, whistle, bubble level, key, pill, U.S. quarter, toothpick, ferro rod, SIM ejector, and tweezers, all in a form factor built for real‑world utility.

Maximum Carry, Totally Pocketable: I started with the premise that almost everyone carries a smartphone daily and the sizes have mostly converged. Flux wallet used this to refine its dimensions to be satisfying to most people while still holding A LOT. 

Lightweight: Engineered from 6061 aluminum and internally skeletonized, the wallet comes in at just 168g. The result is a strong, rigid frame with significantly reduced weight. Easy to carry, all day, every day.

Tactile and Fidget‑Ready: Designed to sit naturally in your palm, the wallet invites effortless fidgeting during downtime. The sliding drawer locks in with a crisp, satisfying click, giving you instant confirmation that your gear is secure and staying put.

The Process: Creating this wallet was not easy, and I learned a lot, but the result makes me very proud. Below are some of the beginning prototypes, both 3D printed and CNC'd.

Open Source: Backers will receive both the STL and STEP files for the drawer insert, giving anyone with 3D‑printing and CAD experience the freedom to customize, modify, and create their own versions for themselves or the community to enjoy!

Stretch Goal: Hitting the $50,000 milestone unlocks two new modular drawer options, giving you the freedom to tailor your carry to each day’s activities.
