Produced in a limited run of 100 units, this is a collectible designed to mark a moment in time.

Each pen engraved with the North America 26 graphic is supplied with a signed paper authentication certificate from Charles Lethaby.

Please note: your edition number is determined by the pledge time of the graphic add-on, not your Kickstarter backer number.

Charles Lethaby has created one of the world’s first fully interchangeable stationery systems.

The ION Pen combines components across materials, finishes, and forms — allowing you to configure your ideal everyday carry (EDC), whether from curated options or fully customised builds.

Striking simplicity and clean geometric lines define the ION Pen — a refined object designed for daily use.

All pens are available with plain or branded caps.

The ION Pen is constructed from six precision-machined components, each made from a single piece of material.

There is:

no pressing
no folding
no casting

The pen can be fully disassembled and reassembled without tools, allowing complete flexibility across materials and finishes.

Laser-engrave up to 15 characters onto the body of your pen.

Bock 250 Nib [Size 6]

Each ION Pen is fitted with a Polished Steel or Brass-Plated nib by Peter Bock — one of the world’s leading nib manufacturers.

Nib upgrades are available via pledge or post-campaign survey, with sizes ranging from fine to broad.

While the ION Pen is designed for daily use, not everything we make is designed to live in your pocket.

The ICON Series exists as the archival counterpart — limited, engraved works created to be kept, displayed, and collected.

Available exclusively as add-ons.

North America 26 — The Game

The ICON Series continues with a piece inspired by the global game — a symbol of competition, identity, and shared experience.

Each ICON is a standalone work, produced in strictly limited quantities:

Aluminium — 50 editions
Titanium — 25 editions

Where the ION Pen is designed for use, the ICON Series is designed for permanence.

Art, Engraved — Not Printed

Each ICON is precision laser-engraved into solid aluminium or titanium.

There is:

no ink
no coating
nothing applied to the surface

The artwork is permanently cut into the metal, creating depth, contrast, and a tactile surface that shifts with light.

Each piece is individually numbered and cannot be reproduced once the edition is complete.

Back-Date Your Authentication Certificate

If you backed a previous Collector’s Edition ION Pen, you may upgrade and back-date your authentication certificate in aluminium or titanium.

These certificates match the ICON Series format and preserve your original edition number — bringing earlier releases into the current ION system.

Details are confirmed during the post-campaign survey.

Please note: only one reward may be selected per pledge. Multiple items should be combined into a single pledge amount.

Off-the-shelf pens include:

A survey will be sent after the campaign ends to confirm all selections.

Who Is Charles Lethaby?

Charles Lethaby is a UK-based designer working at the intersection of form and function.

Founded in 2014, the studio began in lighting and is now stocked in over 20 countries, including Heal’s (London), ECC (New Zealand), and Archetypal (Hong Kong).

Delivery

All rewards are shipped tracked and insured to the value of the pledge.

Tracking details will be provided via Kickstarter. Any loss must be reported within 30 days of shipment in accordance with insurer terms.
