Before Kataleya existed, getting ready for work felt like a chore instead of something I used to enjoy. I had a closet full of clothes, yet I always felt like I had nothing to wear. During this time, I was also learning more about polyester, micro plastics, and their potential long-term impacts on our health and the environment. Seeing brands label items as “recycled polyester” or greenwash their way to look eco-friendly just didn’t sit right with me.

I knew there had to be a better way.

Scrolling through social media, I also noticed influencers in the U.S.,Europe, Australia, etc. had easy access to chic clothing made from high quality fibres. Why couldn’t Canadians enjoy the same stylish options without paying outrageous shipping and duties?

That’s when I realized it was time to combine my love for sustainability, my concern about overconsumption and my frustration at the lack of chic clothing options in Canada. That’s how Kataleya was born.

Kataleya is a sustainable online fashion brand that makes dressing effortlessly chic simple. Instead of individual pieces that often don’t mix with the rest of your wardrobe, we offer interchangeable collections. Every piece works with the others, so you can create multiple stylish looks with fewer clothes. Don't worry, we still offer the option to purchase pieces individually if you prefer.

We’ve also vowed to avoid using polyester wherever possible, including recycled polyester, focusing on natural fibers wherever possible that feel better, breathe better and last longer. Kataleya is for women who care about the planet, want to simplify their outfit decisions, and still look effortlessly chic every day.
