Launch Wicked Fizzies & More: Dirty Sodas & Big Dreams

We’re Mary and Thomas Desourdy — a New England family (Massachusetts born and raised) who moved to South Carolina with our three kiddos for a fresh start, a simpler life, and the chance to finally build something of our own. The word “wicked” is part of our roots, part of our humor, and part of our identity, so when we dreamed up a drink stand, the name Wicked Fizzies & More felt like home.

For years, we’ve talked about starting a food business — even dreamed about owning a food truck — but we never had the right idea or the right moment. Then, within the last couple weeks, we took a leap of faith and jumped in headfirst. We spent every penny we had on stocking up and getting started as much as we could, we started sharing drink videos on TikTok… and everything clicked. We ended up doing our first trial run at our sons 5th birthday party and it was a complete hit! We made a total of 32 drinks that day, whipping out a good amount of what we had stocked up on. But People loved the drinks, the colors, the energy, and the family vibe — and that one party showed us two things: people genuinely enjoy what we’re making, and we need help restocking and getting a more professional setup so we can launch the right way. In under seven days, we built momentum we never expected on TikTok giving us hope and motivation that this will be our life-changing business.

Now we’re ready to take the next step — to go from “experimenting in our kitchen” to opening a real drink stand here in Winnsboro, our new hometown.

But we’ve reached the point where we can’t or move forward without the equipment & supplies to officially launch. That’s why we’re turning to Kickstarter — not to build something huge, but to get the basic setup we need to open Wicked Fizzies & More for real.

Some of our reward tiers include free drinks, and we know not everyone is local — and that’s okay. If you choose a tier with drinks and don’t redeem them, your support still helps our family move forward, and we’re truly grateful for it.

We’re keeping our goal small and realistic: $2,000.
Just enough to get us legally set up, fully stocked, and ready to serve.

We’re starting right here in Winnsboro because this is where people have welcomed us, supported us, and encouraged us from the beginning. This is where we want to plant our roots.

But we also have a bigger dream — one that’s about more than drinks.

Our long‑term vision is to create a family‑friendly food and entertainment space for the town. One day, we hope to rent or buy a small spot or buy an empty lot and build a shed‑style brick‑and‑mortar for Wicked Fizzies & More. From there, we want to grow it into a mini food‑truck court, with our drink stand as the permanent resident.

And because we’re parents ourselves, we want this space to be designed with families in mind. Our dream includes:

A secure, fenced‑in playground so small children can play safely

Picnic tables and shaded seating

Clean trash receptacles

A pavilion for live music and community events

And if permanent bathrooms aren’t possible yet, well‑maintained porta potties

We want to create a place where families can relax, kids can play safely, local vendors can thrive, and the community can gather — a place that brings color, energy, and connection to Winnsboro.

We’re not asking for that today.
Today, we’re asking for the first step — the $2,000 we need to legally open, get our equipment, and start serving drinks for real.
