Life Review: The Hospice Musical is a powerful new work about memory, connection, and the stories that matter most - all the way to the end of life.

Set inside a hospice, the show transforms real-life conversations into song—inviting audiences to hear each voice, "even as it fades."

On May 9, we will present a live concert performance and recording featuring brand-new orchestral arrangements. This Kickstarter will help bring that live concert album recording to life.

The Story Behind the Musical

Life Review: The Hospice Musical has been over a decade in the making.

It began when creator Benjamin Kintisch was working as a chaplain in a residential hospice, sitting with patients and their loved ones, listening to their stories.

“One night, on the drive home, I said to my wife—'these stories need to be songs!' She said, ‘Get writing!’”

That same night, Benjamin began drafting what would become one of the musical’s central songs, “Will It Still Snow?”

From those first moments of inspiration, Life Review has grown into a deeply human piece of musical theater—one that honors both the beauty and heartbreak of a life fully lived.

The World of the Show

Welcome to Hopeful Hospice—the final home for a group of unforgettable characters.

Through music, we witness private conversations between patients and a chaplain transformed into song. Each story becomes a journey, inviting us to reflect on our own lives, relationships, and memories.

This is a musical about listening, about presence, and about what it means to truly be heard.

The May 9 Concert & Live Album

On May 9, we will present a concert performance and live recording of Life Review: The Hospice Musical. We will perform in the Arellano Theater on the historic campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

This performance will feature:

Eight newly orchestrated songs

Five professional instrumentalists (violin, cello, clarinet, flute, piano)

Five professional vocalists from the Baltimore region

A full live album recording

This recording will allow us to share the music far beyond the concert hall—for the first time giving audiences a way to revisit and share the work.
