As a Child, UK Jungle and Drum and Bass Producer and DJ Chris Inperspective has been in the kitchen, learning from the best — his mother, Monica Walton. Her kitchen wasn’t just a place to cook; it was the heart of the household, alive with laughter, aromas, and stories.

Every dish carried love, memory, and heritage.
Over the past six months, Chris has been bringing that vision to life at the Wijkpaleis in Rotterdam, a community hub where he’s been cooking full Caribbean meals for visitors, experimenting with menus, and serving dishes that honour Monica’s legacy.

This experience has been invaluable: it’s allowed Chris to refine recipes, manage a small-scale kitchen, and understand exactly what equipment and setup are needed to successfully run a pop-up.

Now, he’s ready to take it further with Monica’s Kitchen, a pop-up project celebrating authentic Caribbean family recipes passed down through generations. From hearty classics to modern twists, every plate tells a story — of Monica, her children and grandchildren, and a culture rooted in togetherness.
