What's The Story?

Ruffian Meat is an anthology of horror, sci-fi and unsettling comics. 

Five of which are written by Losty(me). And one story by our guest writer, the one and only Gretchen Felker-Martin!

Phantoms! 

A strange destitute world is ravaged by a mysterious smell bringing with it, a plague of death! Dr. Kree is summoned to nurse a child who may hold the answer to this calamity

Earn Your Spot: art by Marie Enger, words by Losty

An oilpunk cosmic fantasy set in the sodden trenches of a war torn Irish countryside. This tale follows Un’fella who (along with his fellow trenchers) at 6pm daily, must climb from their dugouts to stand exposed and fire six shots blindly into the smoke and fog of the battlefield.

Birthmark: art by Connor McCann, words by Losty

Inspired by Gary Busey's monologue in "Surviving The Game" a boy's father tasks him with raising a puppy. His father implements a cruel form of training while the boy grows closer to his pet. On his 14th birthday he is brought to the woods and forced to fight the dog in a pit.

Devourer: art by Artyom Trakhanov, words by Losty 

A ranger and his animal companions witness a celestial orb fall from the sky and begin to consume everything it touches.

Mallet Head: art by Michael Walsh, words by Losty

A pregnant wastlelander is worshipped by her fellow tribespeople but she is weary of what she carries. Is it their saviour or their end? Either way she has no choice. This child must be brought to this world. At what cost?... Any.

And finally!

"Lip plumping, Brazilian butt lifts, breast implants; body fat is in high demand, and Lena's is considered especially high-quality by Florida's booming black market plastic surgery clinics. The whole industry wants its pound of flesh, the rich and famous wearing her tissue proudly in their sculpted bodies, but Lena herself is invisible. Now, after years as a resource for other people's body image issues, she has some work of her own she'd like to get done."

This number is to cover paying my collaborators, printing and fees (processing/kickstarter). All profit made from the campaign will subsequently be divided and shared among my collaborators.

A word from Losty

I love to make comics, I love to tell stories and I love working with my friends and cool people. That's what this project is plain and simple. The book's cover price is as cheap as I can make it but shipping is a major hurdle here. I've tried to keep it as low as possible but if you're not in the European Union or the USA (we have dual distribution) it will be expensive to get the book shipped (5-17 euro estimate). SO every euro we raise is greatly appreciated.
