SAAL was born from that frustration. We’ve all been there. We decided to actually fix it.

That moment — the one every surfer knows — turned into two years of designing, prototyping, and refining through real sessions. Not theoretical testing. Actual surf days, actual transitions, actual feedback from real water people.

We tore apart what didn’t work. We kept what did. We added what was missing. The product you’re looking at today is the result of that process — every detail earned, nothing assumed.

08. TECHNICAL SPECS

Built for the conditions, not just the catalog.

A surf bag lives a hard life. Salt water, sand, UV exposure, and constant wet-dry cycles demand materials that most bags aren’t built for. We specified every component of SAAL with beach conditions as the baseline, not an afterthought.

09. TIMELINE

Production has already started. First 500 units ship as early as May 2026. If you’re among the first backers, your order is already in the queue.

We’ve spent two years getting SAAL right — designing, prototyping, testing, and refining through real-world use. This Kickstarter is the final step before full production. We have a clear, realistic plan to get it into your hands.

We’ve been surfers longer than we’ve been designers.

Surfing has been part of our lives since we were kids. Thirty years of sessions, wetsuits, and parking lot changes taught us one thing — the gear never kept up with the life.

So we built SAAL.

Dip Studio is an industrial design consultancy based in San Diego, CA. We design products that push the boundaries — SAAL was born from our Venture Studio, where we turn real-life frustrations into meaningful solutions. Living by the coast, we saw surfers struggling with the post-session chaos every single day. We had the skills to fix it. We had the frustration to motivate it.
