The Art of Abuse. Launch Funds

THE STORY

To some art is simply a painting, a sketch, perhaps a photograph… but to others, art is pain. That kind of art can’t be framed, it has to be captured in a different way. At least that’s what a villain would think. But does the villain ever really know they’re bad? Are the muscly heroes always as invincible as they seem? The truth is, it’s not always as black and white. The guy in the coffee shop could hold a dark secret. The girl stacking shelves may face a terrifying fate. The runner on the road could be jogging straight into the clutches of evil. Covered up by deceitful smiles, gritted teeth and crocodile tears, abuse can be so well hidden… that is the art of it.

We, as a company, want to create an iconic film, that fosters a truthful and raw depiction of abuse, abduction, sexual violence and other incredibly important topics. Our goal is that our film will start to spark a conversation amongst its viewers and most importantly, an understanding of the subjects raised. By combining the graphic nature of the horror genre with a passion for tackling these subjects with respect and dignity, we are certain it will make for a compelling and intense piece of cinema.

WHO’S IN IT?

The Art of Abuse stars our three incredibly talented leads, Alex Lipitch, Georgie Harriet-King and Dan Robins.

Alex, plays the role of Brandon, has starred in several TV shows including Eastenders and Call the Midwife, as well performing in several short films, plays and documentaries, alongside his impressive career in presenting.

Georgie, plays the role of Leah, has a promising acting career ahead of her! As well as her other achievements in screen and stage roles, she has worked with us on lots of projects, namely The House That Zombies Built and she is set to star in our other upcoming project, Zombikini.

Dan, plays the role of Ethan, has already made incredible achievements in the acting industry! He has starred in several award winning short films, TV series and feature films, including Amityville Scarecrow 2 and Return of Krampus as well as working on his own award winning project, The Agency!

WHO ARE WE?

Our director, Jason Wright, is a seasoned professional when it comes to directing! With awards to his name and a history of creating fantastic feature films, such as Acid Pit Stop, Zombie Wars, Torture and of course Mannequin (due for release very soon!). Jason also has a history of promotional work, booking jobs for Resident Evil 6, Fear the Walking Dead and Walker Stalker London. Jason’s experience in horror and his passion for truthful storytelling makes him the perfect fit to direct this film!

PRODUCER KIRSTY RICHARDSON, ACTRESS GEORGIE HARRIET-KING AND

DIRECTOR JASON WRIGHT

 Our amazing and talented 1st AD and producer Kirsty Richardson has handled the majority of Jason’s films and has a track record at being an incredible producer, with credits such as Acid Pit Stop, Zombie Wars, Torture and many more, we have no doubt that Kirsty will pull it out of the bag once again for this project! Kirsty has switched things up a little bit this time… by pairing up with Georgie to write this project! The two have been hard at work making this a masterpiece for all of you to see! Between countless late night zoom calls and copious amounts of caffeine, they have created a passion fuelled and unique piece, sure to hit home to even the toughest of viewers!

What We Need & What You Get

There is no one more committed or passionate about making thought-provoking and truthful cinema than us here at TAOA Productions- but unfortunately one cannot complete and release a film on passion and good-will alone!

Principle photography has been completed and we are deep into post production and just need a bit more funding to get the film ready to release to the film festivals, create and produce some promo blu rays and get this film released to the market.

We totally understand that money can occasionally be a bit on the tight side - heck, we're filmmakers, other than making movies the occasional lack of funds is also in our blood.
