Buffy the Vampire Slayer + Harry Potter + Lost = The Canon of Vangel
Ten years after a magical reawakening has turned the modern world upside down, Paladin Vangel Alessandra is looking for her place in the world. That is, when she’s not helping magical and mundane people alike navigate new normal, keeping a lid on her own personal demon, Daisy, and trying to halt to the apocalypse-in-progress.
The Canon of Vangel intertwines the mystique of magic with the hustle of urban life. Follow Vangel Alessandra, a driven but vulnerable hero, as she navigates challenges that blend the supernatural with the mundane. Issue #6 marks the conclusion to the first arc of this modern fantasy epic. Whether you're a long-time follower or new to the series, this issue promises resolutions as well as twists you’ll never see coming!
The Story So Far
In Issue 1- Paladin Vangel Alessandra must defend a busload of civilians from a hijacking attempt by a street gang packing a powerful magical punch. That is, until she has to protect the street gang from the passengers.
In Issue 2- Vangel tries to convince the head of a youth center that it's dangerous teaching the arcane arts to wayward teenagers. When a destructive fey creature rears it's ugly head, Vangel must take it out before it brings the whole building down around them.
In Issue 3 - Vangel sets out to investigate the man behind the youth center teaching dangerous magic to kids. But doubts and demons arise as her past begins to catch up with her.
In Issue 4 - When a magical nexus threatens to take over a center for wayward youth, Vangel must team up with Kai, a conflicted street mage, in order to save both the kids and the city.
In Issue 5 - The battle for the souls of the Bastion City Mission kids is on! Backed by unlikely allies, Vangel confronts Andrew Zorensen in a last ditch effort to keep him from becoming the monster from her nightmares.
Now in Issue 6 - Daisy the demon drags Andrew Zorensen down into the deepest depths of his broken psyche, on a mission to uncover the truth behind the mysterious amulets and the powerful ley line that runs beneath Bastion City. Who Am I?
My name is Nathan Lueth and I've been a freelance Illustrator, storyboard artist, and graphic novelist since 2004. I've worked with clients of all sizes and I have over 30 publications credits to my name. Over the last couple years, I've raised $100,000 on Kickstarter with my annual Mind Astray sketchbooks, my victorian-fantasy graphic novel series, Impure Blood, and my urban fantasy comic anthology Concrete Arcanum.
I am thrilled to launch the sixth chapter of The Canon of Vangel on Kickstarter. It is a story that I first started to develop when I was 14 years old, combining all the sci-fi/fantasy elements that I've always loved and smashed together into one grand tale about life, love, loss, and the end of the world! I finally have the resources and know-how to bring it to life and I know you're going to love it!
Budget
The funding goal covers a 200 copy print run. Art production is already complete, and I'm working with a familiar and trusted printer. My aim is to place the print order immediately after the campaign ends for speedy fulfillment.
Timeline

⚔️ Early June 2026 - Place order with printer and distribute digital rewards!
