And that is even harder and more expensive than it sounds.

What's the play about?

When someone we love suddenly becomes a stranger, are our stories ever enough to capture who they really were?

Three Eulogies for Tyson Miller is a raw, 75-minute one-act play exploring the distance between the truth of the past and the stories we tell in the present. Grief can be painful and confusing. By death, conflict, or drifting apart, losing someone we love can leave us searching for answers, often to questions we’ve long ignored.

While Three Eulogies for Tyson Miller is born from a very personal place for Gabe and our ensemble, its themes of lost friendship, grief, and the subjectivity of memory belong to everyone. We are looking for support to help us bridge the gap between the rehearsal room and the stage. By supporting this project, you aren’t just funding a show, you’re helping us launch a world premiere that we hope will stay with our audiences long after the house lights come up.

How we got here.

Flashback over a year...

In early 2025, director Peter Blackburn invited us to read an original play by author, screenwriter, and playwright Gabriel Bergmoser. After reading it through for the first time, we knew we had something special on our hands and immediately decided to originate the piece here in Los Angeles.

Initially, we'd planned to debut during the summer of 2025, then again in the fall, and then again in the early months of 2026...

...fast forward to now and we're actually (we're doing it this time), seriously (we swear to God), for real (WE'VE ALREADY PAID FOR OUR VENUE), performing as a part of Hollywood Fringe 2026!!!

🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻 why didn't we think of this earlier!? 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻 and we are so F*$&%#' STOKED!

We need your help!

Independent theatre ain't free.

We’re footing the majority of the bill because we believe in this play and originating material is a unique opportunity.

BUT - we need your help! Which is why we’re launching this Kickstarter!

“Why?” you might ask. “Why do these thespians need my money?” We’ll tell you! There’s a laundry list of costs like venue rentals, festival fees, costumes, concessions, production design, lighting techs - and the list goes on. We can, and will, get creative to make every dollar count. Every penny will be handled with the upmost care (see below) and every one that you donate will make a difference.

About the artists.

WRITER | Gabriel Bergmoser: International Emmy-winning screenwriter, multiple Kenneth Branagh and VDL nominated playwright, and bestselling novelist (The Hunted).
DIRECTOR | Peter Blackburn: Award-winning NIDA Fellow and VCA Master of Directing; director, coach, and founder of Peter Blackburn Studio.
QUENTIN | Tom Szymanski: Award winning actor, coach and filmmaker specializing in Laban-Malmgren Character Creation; former company member of The Actors’ Gang.
JILL | Emma Burnside: Actress (The Curse) and producer with a background in psychology and high-level physical performance.
TYSON | Zach Feiner: Los Angeles-based actor, award winning filmmaker and creative strategist; co-owner of the production house Expert Friends.
PHOTOGRAPHY | Nick Holmes: Photographer, actor and poet fostering a safe environment for personal connection and emotional nuance.

What do I get if I help?

We will, of course, reward your generosity with a selection of perks and merchandise but the MOST important thing you can do is come see our show. In earnest, if you do nothing else, come watch us perform and if you love it (or hate it), spread the word. ALL of our reward tiers include at least one ticket to the show, and you can add more on. Your donations can and will make a difference and will allow this play to be the best it can be.

We’re going to show up no matter what but we’d sure love to have you there with us.

IF you can't make it, no worries! Your donations also help pay-it-forward so others who have less money (students, fellow artists) may be able to see it!
